Celebrating Community, Compassion & Connection in Key West

Here in Key West, community isn’t just a word it’s a way of life. We show up for one another, lend a hand when it’s needed, and keep our island strong through small acts of kindness that add up in big ways. At ShineGroup, giving back isn’t reserved for the holidays. It’s who we are, all year long.

From serving our neighbors through Shoveling Sunshine to supporting Rotary Club initiatives and partnering with beloved local charities, our team believes in putting heart into action because when we support each other, the whole island shines brighter.

As we head into the holiday season, here’s a closer look at how ShineGroup spreads sunshine throughout the Keys…and how you can get involved.

☀️ Shoveling Sunshine: Small Acts, Big Hearts

One of ShineGroup’s signature initiatives, Shoveling Sunshine is all about stepping in where the community needs an extra boost. The ShineGroup team donates 10% of all team commissions to Shoveling Sunshine, Inc. a non-profit that supports Keys residents when they have to travel outside of Monroe County for medical care.

💛 Local Charities That Keep Our Island Strong

Key West is full of incredible organizations doing essential work. ShineGroup regularly partners with and supports charities that make a real difference, including:

  • The SOS Foundation – Providing nutritious meals and resources for local families.

  • Rotary Club of Key West, an organization known for its long-standing commitment to making the island better for all.

  • AH of Monroe County – Supporting housing and health services for residents in need.

  • FKSPCA – Giving love, shelter, and second chances to our island’s animals.

  • MARC House – Enriching the lives of adults with developmental disabilities through meaningful programs and community connection.

  • Irreverent Warriors - promoting mental health for veterans through humor and comraderie.

  • The Boys & Girls Club of the Keys – Creating safe, inspiring spaces for local youth.

These organizations rely on community involvement—whether it’s time, donations, or simply sharing their mission.

🎁 How You Can Give Back This Season

If you’re looking for ways to spread sunshine this holiday season, here are simple and meaningful ways to get involved:

✔ Donate locally

Even small contributions make a big impact here in the Keys.

✔ Volunteer your time

Help at a food drive, participate in a cleanup, mentor a student, or pitch in at a local event.

✔ Support local families

Holiday toy drives, meal sponsorships, or neighbor-to-neighbor assistance go a long way.

✔ Shop small

Your holiday purchases can support artisans, makers, and family-owned businesses right here in paradise.

✔ Share opportunities

Encourage friends and followers to get involved—sometimes awareness is the first step to action.

Shine Together, Stronger Together

Key West thrives because of the people who care about it—people who show up, lift others up, and pour love back into the community. At ShineGroup, we’re honored to be part of the island’s story and to support the causes that keep our home resilient, vibrant, and full of hope.

If you’re seeking ways to give back or want help choosing a charity or volunteer opportunity, reach out. We’d love to point you in the right direction.

Here’s to a season of generosity, gratitude, and shining a little brighter together. ✨
